I wasn’t sure what to call this post but I finally decided on family time. Our little family of 5 loves to be outside. As fall continues and winter approaches, it’s time to get the property ready for the cold.
This week we have really started getting some things out away and ready for bad weather and yesterday the kids got to help with some backyard projects.
Our kiddos LOVE to help with any job we are working on. Yesterday we were cutting up logs from some trees my husband cut down and the kids piled up branches to be burned.

Even the dogs “helped”!

My husband and I worked from sun up to sundown. I made some progress in our garage and got my garden cleaned up. Gabe smoked meat while we were outside, as well, which turned out very well!

I cleaned off the kids trampoline so they could play (because it was covered in acorns and no one likes stepping on those). Madison enjoyed playing on it and watching while the big kids helped move limbs.
There isn’t really a story in this post but more a little update as to what some of our family time looks like. It doesn’t have to cost money or be out and about (although it is fun to do family outings). We honestly enjoy just being together and having a project to work on.
The kids get to learn how to work hard and appreciate things from a different perspective when they have to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty. They teach each other and get exercise while at the same time learn safety, responsibility, and the importance of taking care of what God provides us.
It is so exciting to me to get to watch my kids learn, grow and teach them to work hard and play hard.
Until next time…

Love this! Sometimes simply doing things together as a family is exactly the adventure we all need! ❤️
